Acknowledgements & Tribute

Australian Military ArtI would like to recognize the many people who have contributed to the creation of these artworks. The production of which is a collaboration of many minds and various talents - I am simply the monkey at the end of the brush. Without these people's generosity of time the desire to become a military artist would have remained just that.

Thanks Andy Brudnell for planting the seed, Kerry & Kay Danes for the starting chance, and Brett Williams of the Military Workshop for his backing and support.

Gordon CallowTribute to LCPL Gordon Callow

Gordon Callow was a soldier in the SAS who died in the Blackhawk tragedy of 1996. I went through basic training with Gordon. His virtue and relaxed mental attitude convinced me of the truth to Christianity before his words did. He is well remembered and his impact continues.

Other Military Artists

Since Australia's military history is so short in comparison to other countries, sadly we don't have the mass interest to encourage many artists to paint military themes - those that do get very little support.

I have no hesitation recommending these contempory artists - they are filling a very important historical gap. If not for them, many great Australian military moments and heroes would go unsung to future generations.
